One of the highlights of the Autumnal leaf fall season on the S&C is the replacement of GM Class 66 traction with Brush Class 60s on the imported gypsum flow from Tees Dock. The additional adhesion capabilities deemed necessary after problems several years earlier which caused major timetable disruption. Given the unpredictability of the weather at this time of year it's also nice to get a sunny shot of the working under the belt early as there often aren't too many chances in a typical year. On the first week of 60 haulage in 2021 60044 'Dowlow' is seen thundering through Garsdale at an impressive pace with 6E97 Kirkby Thore - Tees Dock empty boxes..
