JL - 6.10.10 158844 09.47 Leeds - Carlisle, Ribblehead

On a day when the S&C timetable was in tatters 158844 heads away from Ribblehead towards the viaduct on the rear of the 09.47 Leeds - Carlisle. The problems today had been caused by the early morning gypsum working which was stranded on the climb from Settle. To rescue the gypsum, the GBRf loco from the inbound Arcow diagram left its hoppers at Hellifield and ran light engine to the stricken DBS gypsum working. It hauled the gypsum to Blea Moor and returned to Hellifield to continue its journey to Arcow. The gypsum later returned loaded from Blea Moor and DBS tried again a day later.
