JL - 27.3.20 66303 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Ais Gill summit

With the UK on lock down due to Corona virus we are allowed out for 1 hours exercise per day to prevent the spread and 'flatten the curve', and even then this has to be within a few miles radius of your home. Realistically, this limits me to a stretch of the S&C between Smardale and Ais Gill, however there are many excellent locations on that section. With the S&C so quiet it makes the choice of which working to target very easy, although timing my bike ride is more challenging!
The week commencing Monday 23rd March promised some decent weather and luckily 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe engineers was a runner every day. It was jackpot stuff on the Weds & Thurs as the popular autoballasters made the formation but on Fri the working arrived with a mixed formation. 66303 (the loco allox all week) is seen cruising over the roof of England at Ais Gill summit through Dales scenery that was a quiet as I've ever known and no aircraft vapour trails, again very rare.
