Lovely Spring conditions on the S&C today, the day after a test train unofficially opened the line to through traffic by proving the section between Appleby - Carlisle which has been closed for over a year. Today a Northern Trains 142 unit was shuttling between Carlisle and Appleby on route learning duties.
