It's not unusual for us to get snow in November, in fact it's happened several times over the 10 years that I've lived near the S&C. What is more unusual is that rare and welcome combination of sun and snow happened on a weekend when I could take advantage. The only non-passenger working over S&C metals today was the returning RHTT diagram which almost caught me out at Garsdale running 1 hour early and with no sign from the signals that it was approaching. Because the locos are so filthy I had intended to get up the bank to the south of the line for a wide angle shot with a nice vista of snowy Garsdale as a back drop. In the end a quick grab shot was the best I could do.
