JL - 19.12.23 60021 6N87 Lynemouth PS - Tyne, Bedlington Viaduct

Today was a big win for patience and planning. With the recent restart of 60 hauled biomass traffic for Lynemouth Power Station, I had been waiting for an opportunity to return to this much changed, but still fascinating, part of the North East. It had been many years since my last visit and with full sun forecast I had planned 7 shots of GBRf's 60021 'Penyghent' on the inbound loaded 6N86 and the empty outgoing 6M87. In the end I missed only one of my planned shots due to a technical drone problem but I wasn't too bothered as it was probably the least visually impactful of the bunch. In the final shot of the day, the classic lines of the Brush machine are seen illuminated by golden winter light whilst crossing the attractive Bedlington Viaduct. If this is my last shot of 2023, which has been a bumper year, then I'm a very happy man.
