10.12.09 66201 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Settle Junction

Things were very quiet today on the S&C. No late morning coal, no gypsum and no early afternoon coal meant that this was the only southbound freight in daylight. I had already taken a shot of this working at Ribblehead station and with no other freight about I raced south thinking that it would be held at Settle Junction whilst a unit worked off the Carnforth line. This turned out to be the case and I made it with a few minutes to spare. As the last rays of winter light illuminate the scene the EWS liveried but DBS owned 66201 is seen getting back underway with a huge rake of MTA and MHA wagons.
