With the huge snow-capped flank of Whernside as an impossing backdrop WCRC 47760 brings up the rear of Compass Tour's Festive Settle Scotsman excursion working from Blackpool to Edinburgh as 1Z75. The sun was by no means a certainty and only minutes before it's arrival did I get anything like a prolonged spell of bright light. I felt a going away shot today was the best option for this working because I find this livery difficult to make look attractive in any conditions and a dark cab front doesn't help. So to make sure I had sun on the cab it had to be a going away shot.
