4.6.11 47810 & 47790 1Z65 Crewe - Edinburgh, Low Borrow Bridge - West Coast Main Line (north to south)
Pretty lucky with this on relfection. The tour had reached Preston before leading loco 47790 was declared a failure. 47810 quickly ran round and the tour continued from Preston, albiet late. They must have missed out the booked loop, and by the time it passed me at Low Borrow Bridge the tour was back on time. Which in the event was just as well becuase shortly after this a huge blanket of cloud obscured the sun for the rest of the day. Seen threading the Lune Gorge at a decent speed the DRS liveried 'duff' 47810 'Peter Bath MBE' gets a run at the climb ahead with 1Z65 Northern Belle excursion from Crewe to Edinburgh. Good to catch up with PM also this morning.
