28.1.06 - 57309 & 390025 07.35 Glasgow - Euston, Kirkby Thore

In early 2006 for many weekends during Winter and into Spring the S&C saw diversions away from the WCML to allow essential engineering work to take place to imporve the west coast route. At that time I was still exploring the route new locations which accounts for this shot at the lesser-visited Kirkby Thore. 57309 'Brains' hauls Virgin Pendo 390025 past the gypsum works forming the 07.35 Glasgow - Euston. This shot was used in The Railway Magazine in their April 2006 edition.
