18.7.08 66406 4M78 Elderslie - Kirkby Thore, Kirkby Thore

In mid-2008 after a sucessful trial, a brand new freight flow began operating on the northern end of the S&C. The new flow took finished product (plasterboard) from the British Gypsum plant at Kirkby Thore to a delivery point at Elderslie in Renfrewshire near Glasgow. DRS locomotives operated the new freight service which was timed to arrive at Kirkby Thore just after 9pm. This meant that only a glint was a realistic option for a decent shot and even then only at the hieght of summer when the days were long. This was my second attempt at a glint shot of the new freight flow and it didn't turn out as well as my first. The immaculate DRS 66406with 4M78 Elderslie - Kirkby Thore empty containers slowly approaches the foot crossing at Kirkby Thore running on this occasion slightly behind time.
