With low cloud and rain across the Pennines this morning there was no indication that the afternoon would end up fine, bright and very clear. A day out with the family was rounded off nicely with a quick stop at Great Strickland to see the Railway Touring Company's returning CME excursion. Running right on time the outstanding A4 'Pacific' No. 60009 'Union of South Africa' storms upgrade towards Shap summit with 1Z30 Carlisle - Liverpool set against the fantastic view across the Eden Valley.
