JL - 8.1.24 56098 & 56049 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk, Lazonby

GBRf's BR large logo Grid has been hired by Colas for a few days meaning a both heritage traction and a very rare heritage livery was anticipated for the S&C logs. It was not easy to find both sun and a location without too much shadow. I had several 'ideal' spots in mind but they looked likely to be clouded out so I played the percentage game and waited until the last minute before deciding on a location. In the end I was just north of Lazonby in fantastic winter sunlight to witness 56098 & 56049 work 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk logs. With a decent forecast tomorrow more crowds are expected for a repeat run. The S&C gods were smiling today because K05, which was also double-headed was formed of the always attractive autoballasters. Unfortunately a drone software malfunction for the NMT HST at Eden Lacy meant I couldn't make it a hattrick of sunny shots today. Still nice to get this in the bag.
