JL - 6.3.23 66056 6K27 Carlisle Yard - Crewe, Elmsfield - West Coast Main Line (north to south)
Working in Lancashire with an afternoon return journey north brought with it the chance to duck in at Elmsfield for the anticipated southbound freights. I wasn't in time for the preceding Grid hauled Longport ballast or the logs but I did manage the third working which was the semi-regular 6K27 Carlisle Yard - Crewe Basford Hall engineers. If it does run this working can produce some interesting consists and today was no exception. Seen passing a sunlit Elmsfield behind an ex-works 66056 with a few cab front modifications.
