A very interesting STP addition into today's WCML timetable was 6M52 Bicester MOD - Carlisle Yard. The last MOD working I had seen, fairly recently, was in the hands of FHH and was a long trainload of flats. I was hoping for something more interesting as a consist and being greedy a celebrity GBRf 66 would be ideal. In the end that's exactly what we got and it made for a stunning picture at Greenholme this evening. MSC liveried 66709 'Sorrento' powers upgrade in stunning Spring evening light. Had it taken it's booked loop at Tebay it would've been impossible to get back across to the S&C for the cement. It didn't so both shots were possible, one of those rare days when everything just worked.
