JL - 29.11.23 70812 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk, Eden Lacy Viaduct

Since I started to think of the Colas 70s as the modern day equivalent of 9Fs (S&C freight workhorses), I've somehow felt a bit better about photographing them. One of the few remaining regular freights, 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk logs is still in the capable hands of 70812, which isn't the best example of the Colas fleet by any stretch. Seen thundering over the dark and very cold waters of the River Eden running bang on time yet another load of Kielder timber heads for mid-Wales.
