JL - 29.11.23 66506 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Greenlands Farm

It's a sad reflection on the state of the current S&C rail scene that I would consider this as newsworthy. With no cement traffic, no gypsum and even the once regular K05 becoming a bit hit and miss, the S&C based photographer will take anything he gets right now. After cancelation yesterday I was expecting (hoping) that the lunchtime Carlisle - Crewe engineers would make an appearance today. What I didn't expect was that it would appear behind FHH traction. FHH have never operated K05 and other than light engine workings their Sheds are something of a rarity on the route over Ais Gill right now. Once a very familiar loco on S&C metals on coal traffic from Scotland, 66506 'Crewe Regeneration' blasts south at Greenlands Farm with a lighlty loaded formation. As ever when a short formation the diagram was making time as it worked south.
