A very rewarding capture and potentially one of my best yet on the WCML between Lowgill and Tebay. The classic Lune Gorge straight is a very difficult place to shoot. But if you have the weather and persist then shots are available. I've always loved shots at this spot from some of the modern masters of railway photography. In its final week of operation, DBS's 666115 and 4M25 Mossend - Daventry are seen threading the Howgills with a well loaded service. Such a shame that increased tax has forced this service off the rails and onto road. Sometimes you wonder if we're heading in the right direction.
