JL - 18.3.16 37421 & 97301 1Z50 Carlisle - Derby, Beckfoot

I've often considered upgrading my well outdated camera and lenses but then in decent light like this I'm still getting sharp images with lovely colours. I'll stick with the old and trusty D50 for now but I am very interested in a pole for the new location opportunities they provide. After the cement I had planned to head across to Kents Bank to grab a shot of the late morning Cumbrian coast loco hauled working, however an STP job suddenly appeared in the timetable on RTT and I was tempted to hang around at Beckfoot since the light was so nice and 4M25 was also on time. It turned out to be a good decision because I was rewarded with the appearance of Colas 37421 and 97301 working 1Z50 Carlisle - Derby. This is my first shot of a Colas 37 and the light and scenery a Beckfoot seem a perfect backdrop to this attractive loco. In my view Colas colours really suit the 37s. A very pleasing result.
