JL - 15.2.16 66304 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Beckhouses - West Coast Main Line (north to south)
Possibly my favourite shot of the day. 66304 glides through a bright and clear Beckhouses with 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe engineers. This working is diverted away from the S&C at present back onto it's former route due to the huge land slip and earthworks at Baron Wood. It's a nice change of pace to get these S&C regulars on alternative routes. With the WCML also blocked at Lockerbie and a lower frequency Virgin timetable in operation all southbound freights are getting to the picturesque south of the county in record times which is great for the waiting photographer. Good to catch up with PM at this spot today.
