JL - 14.3.25 68002 4S44 Daventry - Coatbridge, Lune Gorge

Having bagged a very nice shot of 6K05 on Ribblehead viaduct I slowly made my way home. On the way I was admiring the clarity of the atmosphere and quality of light, where it was breaking through, it was awesome. I call it liquid light. So I decided it would be worth chancing my arm and waiting for the late afternoon WCML freight. 4S44 Daventry - Coatbridge is only just doable along Dillicar straight at this time of year and even then, only half this stretch is in sun. But when the conditions are this good why not go for it? 68002 sounded awful and was badly loosing time from Lancaster onwards, seen here approaching Tebay from the south around 40 late, under epic skies and set against the stunning Lune Gorge. To my mind there are few more dramatic locations than this on our network.
