JL - 14.12.24 66301 6N86 Tyne Dock CT - Lynemouth, Woodhorn

After a completely cloudy week I was playing the percentages today and headed for where I could get several shots of interesting traction before the expected cloud arrived from the north. With a GBRf Tug and Celeb 66 on the Lynemouth biomass circuit I headed for the Blyth & Tyne network. Unfortunately the 60, which had worked in before dawn, left Lynemouth in the 9am path rather than the previously activated 10am path. So that had gone by the time I made it up there. The focus then became the golden ochre liveried 66301 'Drax Power Station 50' on 6N86 from Tyne Dock coal terminal. Looking great in the low winter light, and with a nice patina of grime, the unique Shed works steadily across the embankment at Woodhorn around a mile or two out from its destination. From here my plan was to head south to the Wensleydale Railway for my first shot of ex-Anglia liveried 47714, however clouds advanced from the north west and so I called it a day soon after lunch.
