JL - 14.11.24 60046 6Z22 Aylesbury Loop - Tytherington, High Wycombe

This is a shot I've been planning for around 4 years and finally got a chance to nail it today at the first attempt. Working in the south all week I had quietly planned meetings around these DCR 60 hauled diagrams. In particular I was targeting 6Z22 Aylesbury Loop - Tytherington which leaves Aylesbury in an ideal 10:30 path, making the sun favourable for the run down through the Chilterns. There aren't too many clear sections though and so a location must be chosen carefully. Passing this spot on the train over the years I'd spotted the potential for a decent picture. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. 60046 'William Wilberforce' cruises through High Wycombe in a very lucky patch of stunning November light. When it appeared at the top of the S bend the scene was in full dull. This shot was used in Rail Express magazine's Feb 2025 edition #345 along with a shot of another 60 on the Rylstone branch.
