JL - 12.9.24 66090 6E97 Kikrby Thore - Tees Yard, Greengates

Epic skies were moving quickly south across the Eden valley this afternoon and I’d been keeping an eye on things from my office. As skies cleared in the west it created the opportunity for some very dramatic scenes. As luck would have it the gypsum had ran in its later path and 6E97 return to Tees Yard would pass Kirkby at around 3pm. This would be ideal all variables came together. The clouds dissipated just at the right moment and as an extra bonus a pristine Martime liveried 66090 was in charge. The drone was in the air further north and I was on the ground at the classic Greengates location. The drone provides fantastic opportunities to capture dramatic skies and it came in very handy today for this selection of memorable shots.
