JL - 12.10.24 1Z99 57307 failed 6J37, Carlisle Yard

A very unusual occurrence today when the Colas hauled logs got into trouble near Southwaite shortly after leaving Carlisle. I'm not sure which 70/8 disgraced itself but it blocked the up WCML for quite a while and couldn't proceed. Carlisle 'Thunderbird' 57307 'Lady Penelope' was dispatched and attached at the rear the dragged the whole train bang road back to Carlisle Yard. Photting further south, I was late to figure out what was happening, but happy I made it to Carlisle Yard for a record shot. Of course I can remember when the logs were regularly hauled by Virgin 57/3s but this must be the first time in over a decade.
