On a stunning Autumnal day everything which promised so much wouldn't you know something would go wrong. S&C freight had to be diverted via the WCML due to the previous nights Mountsorrel ballast being stranded at Low House with severe wheel flats. K05 was cancelled and the logs and china clay were diverted. The cement went S&C but was over 100 mins late at Kirkby. I did want to make the most of the conditions though so got what I could on the west coast. 66425 drifts down from Shap at Greenholme with the regular afternoon 6K27 Carlisle - Crewe engineers.
