Leaving the gym around 6.30pm in Kirkby Stephen I looked west towards Tebay and noticed unforecasted, but very welcome, clearing skies. I headed over to Shap to check if any shots were possible of Balfour Beattie's drain train and accompanying 20s. As luck would have it they were nicely positioned on the up line just south of a static GBRf engineers. After a crew change, the immaculate 20901 led the short formation slowly north at Shap village to make a start on the lineside culverts.
