4.10.09 - LNER A1 'Pacific' 60163, 1Z61 York - Carlisle, Garsdale

The day after its historic, and not entirley succesful, first encounter with the S&C, LNER A1 'Pacific' No. 60163 Tornado was back on the route again for 'The Waverley' tour from York to Carlisle and return. I got very lucky with the sun because just as the special could be heard leaving Rise Hill Tunnel the clouds parted and sunlight lit up the scene. The magnificient engine charges north with the outward run. I was at Keld for the return leg later in the day (see Keld section).
