The late operation of the Northern Belle excursion combined with advancing dark clouds from the north west meant I had to change locations this evening. I went for a moody silhouette just north of Appleby and tried to make a bit of a feature out of the impressive oak tree sited near the line. In rapidly fading light and under brooding skies 47832 plods south with the Northern Belle tour returning to Newcastle via the S&C and operating under a 1Z55 headcode.
