22.8.11 - LMS 5MT 45305 Carlisle - Liverpool, Dillicar Common - West Coast Main Line (north to south)
With the changable weather in Cumbria it's not often that I have managed to get an acceptable shot of both the outward and return leg of the same railtour. Today however was the exception and the sun shone for me at Blea Moor for the northbound run and again at Dillicar for the southbound. The second effort was quite lucky however and the steely grey cloud cover that had domintaed since lunchtime can be seen slipping further north and west as the bright sun over my shoulder to illuminate the fantastic Lune Gorge scene. LMS 5MT 45305 races south bang on time with the Carlisle - Liverpool 'Mersey Moorlander'.
