21.5.12 - 43062 & 43013 1Q36 Heaton - Derby

Having already taken a shot of this working at Ais Gill I wondered, (given that it was so close behind the preceeding mid afternoon stopper) if it would be held at Garsdale for long enough for me to beat over the coal road and into Dentdale. As I passed under the line at Garsdale it was waiting for the section to clear and in the event a bit of fancy driving allowed for another shot at the classic Dent station location. Reflecting on this 1Q36 Heaton - Derby diagram whilst driving home it struck me that this must be one of the only diagrams that uses the S&C and continues on the old Midland route for the south. Powercar 43062 'John Armitt' brings up the rear of the NMT as it rolls through England's highest main line station with the warm spring sun blazing overhead.
