13.7.11 - 92017 6S94 Dollands Moor - Irvine, Shap Beck - West Coast Main Line (north to south)
Having seen the gen from further south that the unique Stobart liveried 92017 was working the china clay I made a quick dash away from the desk to get a grab shot. By the time I found out it was too late to head to Low Gill, Beckfoot or Docker so I went north to Shap Beck where the angle of the sun wasn't too up and down the line. I arrived with minutes to spare and just had time to compose and set the exposure. I was a fraction early on the shutter but then I am somewhat out of practice! The long distance 6S94 Dollands Moor - Irvine loaded tanks are seen cruising downgrade past the tranquil surroundings of Shap Beck on warm summer morning.
