12.3.10 66843 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk, Birkett Common - Birkett Common (southbound)
At last, S&C logs! It's been a long time coming but today we had the first routing of 6J37 Carlisle - Chirk logs via S&C metals. The usual traction is now Colas liveried 66843 and the colourful loco is seen climbing slowly through Birkett Common with it's load of Kielder timber. The understanding at present is that this routing will be a semi-frequent event to build up the route knowledge of the Colas drivers. In the future however, when the siding at Chirk is lengthened to accommodate more wagons the S&C will be the regular route for this train.
