11.4.12 - 66103 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Waitby

Unusual weather conditions in the Eden Valley today with frequent heavy showers including hail, however, there were some gaps in the clouds which presented very tempting opportunities for sunny shots under very dark skies, so I dashed out when I could to see what I could get. Having just arrived at Waitby following a spur of the moment decision to go out I had just minutes to set up before the arrival of 66103 on the afternoon 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe engineers working. It's quite a pleasing result at this easy to access location, which I took from a lower angle and nearer to the lineside to allow for inclusion of a terrific skyscape.
